The primordial struggle with nature’s unknown begins, the anticipation of hearing, “I see color.” As[...] […]

Carefree Fun & Utility

This little boat is easy to own and use. It is wide and stable. It is plastic, designed with good looks and nice features. Just get in and go! The hull weighs only 109 pounds. It is so light that it is extremely affected by weight distribution. If you want to go fast either with a motor or oars, you must make sure that the weight is centered so that the nose is not plowing or the rear dragging. I have found that I must sit on the center bench seat in order to use my 5 HP outboard. That means I have to use a tiller extension. If I sit in the back seat and operate the outboard, the nose is sky high and the rear plows through the water without getting up on plane. When I sit in the center bench seat, I get up on a plane with half throttle and maintain the plane with 1/3 throttle. The Scorpio is so light I can steer it by leaning to one side or another. It is fun!
